New Britney Song: 'I'm Bad Media Karma'

Accuse Britney Spears of many things — but don't count a lack of self-awareness among them. Entertainment Weekly was given official access to four unmastered tracks from the star's way-under-wraps upcoming album (label insiders say that all song leaks on websites are not only unsanctioned, but often incomplete) — and the first one's a doozy.






Produced by Bloodshy & Avant, the Swedish team behind her 2004 smash ''Toxic,'' ''Piece of Me'' kicks off with her standard breathy-sexy growl over a thumping hook: ''I'm Mrs. American dream/ Since I was 17.'' Then things get darker: ''I'm Mrs. Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous/I'm Mrs. 'Oh my God, that Britney's shameless'/ I'm Mrs. 'Extra, extra, this just in' / I'm Mrs. 'She's too fat, now she's too thin.''' At other points in the song, she refers to herself as ''bad media karma'' and insists, ''Another day, another drama/ I can't see the harm in working hard and being a mama.'' According to her reps, the song may very well be her second single after the already charting ''Gimme More.''

The spare, glitchy ''Radar'' is also credited to Bloodshy, and promises, ''Boy, I've got my eyes on you,'' accompanied by Vocoder ''da da da''s and what sounds not unlike a real live Doppler radar machine (how method!).

''Break the Ice,'' meanwhile, may remind some of Nelly Furtado's 2007 hit ''Say It Right'' — and for good reason; it also gets its sound from Nate ''Danjahandz'' Hills (the producer behind ''Gimme More'').

Finally, ''Heaven on Earth,'' an airy disco-queen come-on in the vein of Gwen Stefani's Sweet Escape, was penned by songwriter Kara DioGuardi (she cowrote both Ashlee Simpson's ''Pieces of Me'' and Kelly Clarkson's ''Walk Away,'' as well as Stefani's ''Rich Girl'').

Not heard so far: any ballads or explicit references to Kevin Federline or other famous exes (JT, you're in the clear — for now). Spears' as-yet-untitled fifth studio album is due Nov. 13.

No snakes. No same-sex kisses. No magic tricks. No skimpy outfits. OK,
plenty of skimpy outfits. After all, it's Britney, bitch, right? With
one of the most anticipated openings in VMA history, Britney Spears got
the party started Sunday night (September 9) with a James
Bond-meets-underground S&M club slither through her new single,
"Gimme More."

Opening with a close-up of the back of her head,
Spears stared into the camera with the opening lines to "Trouble," made
famous by the ultimate Las Vegas legend, Elvis: "If you're lookin' for
trouble, you came to the right place/ If you're lookin' for trouble,
look right in my face."

The camera panned out to reveal Spears
decked out in acres of bling, including a black, jewel-encrusted bra
and hot pants, black boots and nothing else. Sashaying in and out of
dancers in skin-tight leather, Spears sang the refrain "Gimme, gimme
more" as she literally stepped over the back of a male dancer and got
intimate with another.

With images of chandeliers floating on
the screen behind her mixed with silhouettes of women befitting the
intro reel to a James Bond flick, Spears walked across the stage as her
scantily clad dancers worked a series of stripper poles scattered
throughout the room.

At least one VIP, 50 Cent, appeared to
be enjoying the multimedia experience. And then, after all that hype, a
relieved-looking Brit gave a shy smile, whispered "thank you" and
exited.

I just spoke to Leslie ,Britney’s old rep., about the recent leaks and here’s what she has to say:
“These leaks are from the album and I know JIVE is looking out for everyone with any songs posted. So I advise you and everyone else to take the songs down before legal action is taken. My friend who works at JIVE says they will work 24/7 to stop these leaks and punish everyone with a leak posted up.”

Inside Britney's VMA Rehearsal: It's Britney Bitch

LAS VEGAS — Britney Spears stands onstage, face low and
obscured by her cowboy hat. Her lips aren't moving,
except to laugh, but she's not here to practice singing —
she's at the Pearl to move.
All afternoon, everyone's been waiting for Britney to
rehearse for her VMA performance. Britney Watch, as you
might call it, takes the form of excruciatingly long
periods of waiting punctuated by brief bursts of news,
which can almost resemble activity from afar, even when
nothing's actually happened yet. Britney's in the air,
Britney's landed, Britney's in the building. There's the
anticipation (what will she be like?), the worry (what if
she doesn't show?), and the doubt (can she still pull it
off?). But if the skeptics saw what a few of us at MTV
News were privileged to witness late Friday afternoon at
the Pearl Concert Theater in the Palms Resort Casino,
they would doubt no more.
Britney as a tabloid figure has loomed so large of late,
it's hard to imagine that there was a time when it was
just Britney the performer. Britney the dancer. Britney
the star. And while she wasn't yet at full steam — after
all, these were dry runs at the Palms to get her blocking
straight and stage lighting situated — glimpses of what
she used to be and what she could still become were there
even in these early rehearsals. "Gimme More" might not
have won everyone over on first listen (see "Britney
Spears' New Single Gets Club-Tested In Vegas"), but it's
kind of like "Slave 4 U" or "SexyBack" — the videos in
those cases helped sell the songs. But in this case,
Britney's performance this Sunday will not just help sell
the song, it will help sell her.
"OK, here we go. Three, two, one, track," a female voice
announces over the PA system in the Pearl. Spotlights
sweep back and forth, strobes flash, and a silver-gray
curtain parts. Spears stands to the side, in jeans and a
white tank top that reads "James," hat tipped over her
face. The song starts, but she turns her back during the
opening line, "It's Britney, bitch," striking a pose of
pure attitude.
She's flanked by a few dancers, who at first seem asleep,
crouched low, but come awake once Britney drops the
"bitch" line. More come out as Britney sings, "Gimme
more," until she's got more than a dozen onstage. A
half-dozen aerialists are also to join the action, later
on, though they weren't present at this stage in the
rehearsal.
With each run-through, a choreographer gives Britney more
steps to weave in as she gets more comfortable with the
routine — and as she gets more comfortable, that white
tank top edges up to expose even more midriff. Her
dancers get more suggestive, pulling and pushing and
dragging each other across the stage. But Britney remains
dominant, treating one like a boy toy, stepping over him,
and tossing him aside when she's done with him. That
part's easy — a move that takes a little longer to learn
is to fall into a column of her dancers, who push her
back standing up, like one of those trust exercises you
do at camp.
It could just be a sexy dance move, or it could be
symbolic for Brit: To get back to the top of her game,
she has to give a little too. And then, she turns her
back to everyone once more for her closing line — "I just
want more" — leaving everyone watching wanting more too.
Catch all the star-packed VMA action direct from Las
Vegas on Sunday. MTV News' preshow kicks things off live
at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the big show at 9 p.m.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (September 7, 2007) – Britney Spears is heading to Las Vegas this weekend for a special performance at the MTV’s Video Music Awards.

In Vegas, Spears willl have her own sweet suite at the Palms’ Fantasy Towers Sky Villas, complete with a rotating bed. But, she’s not there yet.

At last night’s New York, Fashion Rocks event, Access Hollywood’s Tim Vincent asked the stars what they think of Britney’s comeback.

“I think she’s been through it all,” Carrie Underwood said. “If anybody can make a comeback, it’s her.”

“I mean, Britney, I got my fingers crossed for her,” 50 Cent noted.

“She’s gotta pick a better animal than a snake,” Fergie said. “She’s gotta up that ante. Bring an elephant. Go big.”

Britney to open the VMAS'07?

After releasing "Gimme More," her much-requested latest single, in advance of her new album (due Nov. 13), the pop star will continue to whet fans' appetites by unveiling a new song during a performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, USA Today reports.

Spears, 25, has long been expected to perform at the Sept. 9 ceremony, and has been working up an act with illusionist Criss Angel. In addition to "Gimme More," she is expected to sing the as-yet-unreleased song "Cry," says the newspaper.

Spears's music rep declined to comment.

Besides doing their work on the VMA performance, Spears and Angel have been hanging out together, most recently last Saturday in Las Vegas where the pop star was on hand to open Luxor's LAX Nightclub.

BRITNEY's BACK!!!!! New Demos Leaked

Four Britney Spears songs have recently leaked. They are; "Been A While", "Got Me High", "Your" and "Everybody". It's not totally clear yet if they're indeed new or songs she recorded time ago. Here's an information about these songs thanks to one of her fansites, UBritney.com: (Btw, thanks to HeyBrtiney.com for the songs's links)
"The new Britney tracks that leaked today (except Everybody) all appeared on a demo CD that was recorded in 2005 for The Original Doll album. Because the songs won't be used, Jive records decided to send them to different sources so they'd leak them and this way, make good promotion for Brit's new album by giving a preview of the new sound she's going for and to also give fans something to listen to until the new record is out. About 18 more demos are said to become available throughout the week"
